Callofduty.com reports: When you turn on your Xbox 360 or PS3 today and pop in World at War, you will be happy to find a nice surprise from Treyarch. Our latest Title Update / Patch has just gone LIVE, and with it some exciting new changes!
There are many different things we’ve addressed in this update, but the most exciting (and pictured below) is the addition of a new map! A daytime version of MP Makin - Makin Day - is coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 absolutely FREE! Aside from the new dynamic the sunlight adds to the experience, some paths and cover have been modified to change-up the gameplay a bit. If you’re a PS3 player, you’ll get Makin Day when you patch. Xbox 360 players can download it from the XBL Marketplace once you sign into the game & Xbox LIVE and get the update.
This is all available now! (February 26, 2009) - for updates regarding the specific platforms, check your respective sub-forum over in the Barracks.
I don't know about you but going to go play till this map rolls around now, see you on the battle field.
Hey Call Of Duty fans we got one more weekend of double-XP coming at us with a few new types of match up, i am a bit slow on this one since it started Friday but better late then never right.
CallOfDuty.com posted this: In lieu of the festivities which will no-doubt keep most of you in front of your TV's all weekend, we've decided to initiate yet another weekend of Double-XP Jan 30 – Feb 1 to compliment The Big Game!
Not only will you be receiving Double-XP, but we're introducing two new playlists to the Xbox 360 and PS3 by popular request: Team Tactical (4v4) and Mercenary TDM (no parties allowed)! Team Tactical will pit two teams of four against each other in a random rotation of all the Team-Based gametypes.
It all starts tomorrow morning PST (Friday the 30th)
Thanks for the great suggestions on those playlists, and keep 'em coming in the Forums. We'll see you online!
Regards, -JD (Go Cardinals)

In case you don't know this is the weekend to work on your Call Of Duty World At War XP and to top it all off they will be patching some "issues" in the game, one can only hope its all the damn glitch points in the game.
In celebration of the outstanding online success of Call of Duty: World at War, we are pleased to present the community with two gifts this weekend!
First, because of the huge popularity of the Nazi Zombies game mode, we're unlocking the Nazi Zombies Co-Op playlist for Xbox LIVE and PSN public games. Even if you haven't completed the Solo campaign, you can now play Nazi Zombies online right away!
Second, this is a Double-XP MP weekend. Everyone will be eligible for Double-XP starting Friday, January 16, 2009 @ 10:00AM PST!
This update also includes "hot fixes" for a number of competitive multiplayer issues that have been reported. Stay tuned to the forums for news about the upcoming full patch/title update.
PC players – information about the PC patch has been posted in the PC sub-forum titled "Patch 1.2 Details." Please check there for updates.
See you online this weekend!

OK so i know this post lacks hard facts and info about the downloadable content and what it is going to be but seeing as i am one of the 50% that seems to really like this game i found the news to be exciting over all, now all thats left to do is find out what the content will be.
Mtv.com's Stephen Totilo reports: Get ready for a twist, “Call of Duty” fans.
Even though the new “Call of Duty: World At War” is succeeding with consumers and critics by sticking to the successful adrenaline-fueled formula of its franchise predecessor, new downloadable content coming to the game in 2009 will represent a break from 2007’s “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.”
How much of a break from the “Modern Warfare” DLC will it be?
In a phone interview with MTV Multiplayer just before Thanksgiving, “World at War” executive producer Daniel Suarez confirmed that the game’s development team is working on downloadable content that will exceed the single multi-player map-pack offered for “Modern Warfare” earlier this year. “We want to do at least — the hope is — potentially two, maybe three packs out before we’re all said and done.”
Suarez said announcements of the downloadable content would be coming at the beginning of the New Year. While he declined to provide a release schedule, he offered this surprise: “It’s not going to be what we’ve done traditionally. I’ll leave it a little bit mysterious.”
What was “traditional” for “Call of Duty” would have to be what was done for “Modern Warfare.” That consisted of four multiplayer maps released five months after the base game launched. What could the new approach be? Downloadable content for the single-player campaign instead of just multiplayer map packs? New armament? New music? A map editor? “Call of Duty” fans should start guessing.
But here’s one option fans shouldn’t consider: the content won’t involve a cross-over with “Modern Warfare.” I asked if the development team on “World at War” was exploring an option to bring the weapons and maps of these two most recent “Call of Duty” games into one meshed, generation-spanning experience. Suarez said nothing like that is in the works.
