Last month, THQ reported some not-so-awesome sales figures for its second annual entry into the UFC Undisputed franchise -- to the tune of an almost 50 percent decline from sales for last year's first stab at game-ifying the sport.
In a recent discussion with the print version of MCV (via CVG), Jon Rooke, the company's UK marketing director, provided one possible explanation for the decrease: "That's largely down to Red Dead Redemption," Rooke explained.
Though Undisputed 2010 has managed to ship a sizable 2.6 million units, Rooke stated that the title hasn't "delivered the broader sales yet." He added, "Rockstar have probably taken a fair amount of our market share. They shipped 5m units, taking a lot of consumer dollars." We know exactly what he's talking about: We picked up Red Dead Redemption instead of UFC because we heard the former had really great wrasslin' -- but we were unfortunately greeted with hours of rustlin' instead.
The last time we saw Master Chief in Halo 3, he was sailing off somewhere in the depths of space, passed out via cryosleep, and slowly headed towards a mysterious planet. Who would’ve thought we’d get to see man wake up?
A lot of people, actually, including 343 Industries’ creative director Frank O’Connor who says Master Chief’s return is definite. “We’d have to be the world’s biggest assholes not to follow through,” O’Connor said in a Comic-Con interview. “We certainly haven’t seen the last of Master Chief.”
While anyone can figure you’d have to have ice running through your veins to want to end the Chief’s story at Halo 3, it’s nice to hear that Halo: Reach doesn’t signify the end of our favorite spartan.

Top of the list is HAWX 2, the sequel to the arcade flight-action game based in the Tom Clancy universe. We loved the first game for what it was and can't wait to see what the next game holds. We'll have our own trailer too, so keep your eyes open for that, but you can expect to see the game released on 3 September this year across all platforms.
RUSE too has been dated, again, despite it being pushed back, brought forward and pushed back again. Assuming it's not playing RUSE with itself and its release date again, we can expect to see that a week after HAWX on 10 September.
Driver San Francisco has been slated for Q1 of next year. So we reckon late April.
